LIBRARY RULES

Members are responsible for all the books borrowed on their borrower cards. All student members should return the borrower cards at the end of the final year and obtain “No Dues Certificate” from the library. Similarly the staff members who intend to leave the college should settle all the dues from College Library and obtain “No Dues Certificate” from the Librarian.

 

Loss of borrower Cards:

1.Loss of cards should be reported to the library immediately.
2. Duplicate borrower Cards will be issued by the Library for Student members. Duplicate borrower Cards ISSUED TO 100 RUPES FINE

 Library Rules and Regulations:

1.SILENCE & CLEANLINESS should be strictly maintained in & around the Library & Information Centre.

2.Each Student is eligible for 2 (Two) Non Transferable Library Borrower Cards, on which he/she can borrow Books for a Period of 10(TEN) Days..

3.All the Students should RETURN their Library Borrower Cards after completion of their Course and obtain a NO-DUE- Certificate from the Library & Information Centre.

4.While borrowing the Book(s) the student is ADVISED to ensure that the Book(s) are in PROPER condition. If any Page(s) are MISSING or DAMAGED, inform the same to the Library Staff on Duty.

5.Avoid making Pencil / Pen Marks, Underlining, or any other type of Damage to the Book(s). If any such things are noticed at the time of returning the books, the Borrower will be held RESPONSIBLE.

6.In case the Book is lost, the Borrower has to REPLACE the Same Edition or the LATEST EDITION of the Lost Book. If the Book is not available Borrower has to pay the COST of the Book (Two times for the Book published after 1999 / Three times for the Book published on or before 1999)

7.Borrowers should RETURN the books ON or BEFORE the Due Date. Defaulter will be fined

Days of Delay Library Fine
Up to 10 Days Rs. 1.00 ps per day.
16 to 30 Days Rs. 1.00 ps per day + ONE Month Suspension of Library Card.
31 to 60 Days Rs. 1.00 ps per day + TWO Months Suspension of Library Card.
61 to 70 Days Cost of the Book as a Fine + Three Months Suspension of Lib. Card.
More than 71Days All the 2 Library Cards will be suspended for a minimum period of One Semester Period

       8.REFERENCE BOOKS are NOT for ISSUE and they should be referred WITHIN the Library & Information Centre only.

       9.Consult the Library Staff on Duty for any other Information or Clarification.

      10.Any marking or writing in the book is strictly prohibited.

      11.Misbehavior in the library will lead to cancellation of membership and also attracts serious disciplinary action.

  1. Students are advised to maintain Silence in the Library Premises.
  2. The College Library works on all working days between 9.00am.5.30p.m depending on timetable.
  3. Books should be returned on or before the due date a fine of Rs.1 per day book will be charged for late returning of books.
  4. One renewal is allowed if there is no demand for the same book by other reader.
  5. Students are advised to check carefully the physical condition of the book before it is issued. Once the book is issued he/she will be held responsible to return the book in good condition.
  6. If the book is damaged, the borrower has to replace a new copy or pay double the prevailing cost in the market along with postal charges and processing fee of RS.50/-each.
  7. Reference books such as Dictionaries, Enclopaedias, Year Books, Journals, projects reports, Textbooks with a marking REFERENCE etc., will not be issued.
  8. Students are advised not to bring their personal belongings and books into the Library except a note Book for making notes.
  9. Every Faculty / Student Entering Into The Library Should Sign The Gate Register.
  10. You are Solely Responsible for The Transactions Made against Your Library Cards.
  11. No Entertainment of Monopolizing Of Books Will Not Be Done.
  12. All The Students Should Return Their Library Borrower Cards After Completion Of their Course And Obtain A “No-Due” Certificate From The Library.
  13. Duplicate Barrower Cards Will Be Issued After Submitting Written Intimation To Librarian With A Fine Of 100/-. At least A Week Days Required for Processing.

Issue and Return of Books:

  1. Two Library Books/materials will be issued to members only on producing valid borrower Cards.
    2. Members should not use other’s borrower Cards.
    3. Books other than reference books will be issued to student members for a period of 15 days. For teachers, the loan period is one full semester.
    4. Hand Books, Reference Books, Dictionaries, Periodicals and Back Volumes are only for reference.
    5. Renewal of books will be permitted if there are no reservations against these books. For renewal, books have to be presented physically to the library.
    6. Books that are in special demand may be lent for such shorter period as may be necessary and books lent out may be recalled at any time, if required.
    7. Absence from the college will not be accepted as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.

General:Rules

1. Entry has to be endorsed in Entry Register.
2. Library staff has the authorized to maintain serene and calm atmosphere in the library.
3. Students are not allowed to Library in the middle of the class’s hours, if it’s necessary, come along with signature of HOD’s Or Principal Sir.
4. On no account, personal books, files and other articles (except a small notebook or loose sheets of papers) will be allowed inside the library. They shall be deposited at the property counter at the entrance.
5. Strict silence shall be observed inside the library.
6. Using Mobile inside the library is strictly prohibited.
7. A member shall be responsible for any damage done by him/her to the books or other properties. He/she will be required to replace the book or other property damaged.
8. Misbehavior in the library will lead to cancellation of membership and also lead to serious disciplinary action.
9. Any marking or writing inside the books by the members is strictly prohibited.
10. Not withstanding anything contained in these rules, the decision of the authorities of this institution in all matters shall be final and binding.
